Chemical Peels – Also referred to as chemexfoliation, Chemical Peels remove the outer layers of skin to improve overall skin function and enhance appearance. Their mechanism of action is based on the principles of wound healing, whereby, controlled wounding of the skin with removal of skin layers helps to stimulate cell renewal and regenerate a healthier epidermis and dermis.
Facial Anatomy and Physiology level 3 & 4 – The skin is comprised of three main layers: the epidermis, dermis and adipose (fat) tissue.
Within the skin there are many small and frequently placed, functional areas which need to be considered prior to treatments. These are blood vessels, nerves, sweat glands and ducts, hair, hair erector muscles and sebaceous glands, nerves and sense receptors.
Dermaplaning- Dermaplaning makes your skin look smoother and fresher, it also removes vellus hairs, or peach fuzz, the fine facial hairs that are usually unnoticeable. One of the most important Dermaplaning pros is the fact that it can help exfoliate your skin in a unique way, that makes both cosmetic procedures and product application much more efficient. Gently running the blade over your skin removes dead skin cells very effectively.
Microneedling- Also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is the process of small needles pricking the skin with the purpose of generating collagen and new skin cells, which in turn will create smoother, firmer looking skin and also even out the skin tone. Microneedling can be done via a dermaroller or a microneedling pen. Most techs use their PMU Pens and purchase the micro or nano needle attachments to perform the services.
Microdermabrasion – Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure used to renew overall skin tone and texture. It can improve the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring, melasma, and other skin-related concerns and conditions.
The procedure uses a special applicator with an abrasive surface to gently sand away the thick outer layer of the skin to rejuvenate it.
